Description
One of my Artist Proofs from the STAR WARS ILLUSTRATED: A NEW HOPE Trading Card Series from Topps.
It depicts BOBA FETT attempting to collect a bounty from DARTH VADER in a scenario that likely occurred sometime around the events of A NEW HOPE.
During this time period, Fett had already earned a reputation as the most notorious bounty hunter in the galaxy. He frequently worked for the Empire and was occasionally even referred to as Vader's right-hand man. In this particular instance, Fett is trying to collect payment on a "Dead or Alive" bounty placed by the Empire, despite the fact that he had completely disintegrated his prey, effectively obliterating any proof that he had performed his task.
This is partly why in THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK Vader specifically admonishes Fett with the explicit instruction "No disintegrations" when hiring the bounty hunter to capture Han Solo and the Millennium Falcon.
... Or perhaps we're simply witnessing an intergalactic game of "Pull my finger".
